News Editor, Newsweek.com

Location: United States (Remote or Hybrid in NYC)

Position Overview:
The Senior Editor is a senior operational authority in Newsweek’s U.S. newsroom, responsible for setting the editorial bar and enforcing it relentlessly. This role demands editors who can run a national news desk at full throttle—making high-stakes editorial decisions in real time, rewriting aggressively, and delivering journalism that competes head-to-head with the strongest U.S. newsrooms. Reporting to the US News Director, the Senior Editor owns daily execution of the U.S. news report, turning strategy into journalism that is fast, authoritative, analytically sharp, and unmistakably worth a reader’s time. This is a role for editors who expect to touch the most important stories themselves, not manage them from a distance.

This is a full-time position working 3:00 pm-12:00 am ET five days a week, including one weekend shift. This position may be worked remotely anywhere in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

Desk Command & Editorial Judgment

  • Run the U.S. news desk during peak coverage hours, making final calls on framing, prioritization, and play.
  • Distinguish decisively between stories that advance public understanding and those that merely follow the pack.
  • Kill weak or redundant stories quickly—and demand better replacements.

Elite Editing & Rewrite Authority

  • Deliver first-class framing on the most competitive national stories, identifying where Newsweek can add clarity, originality, or analytical value.
  • Rewrite without hesitation: leads, nut grafs, headlines, structure, sourcing, and tone.
  • Take raw field notes, transcripts, interviews, and exclusives and turn them into clean, analytical, tightly argued journalism.
  • Perform rapid second-day and rolling rewrites that materially improve stories as facts evolve.

Breaking News & Hands-On Reporting

  • Operate as a desk reporter when the moment demands it—making calls, confirming facts, chasing documents, and closing gaps.
  • Personally intervene on high-stakes or sensitive stories where precision and judgment are critical.

Standards, Culture & Accountability

  • Hold yourself and your team to elite newsroom standards.
  • Provide blunt, constructive feedback and demand improvement.
  • Mentor reporters and junior editors into sharper thinkers and stronger journalists.
  • Take ownership when coverage underperforms.

Audience & Competitive Awareness

  • Maintain a sophisticated understanding of how serious readers engage with news.
  • Work with audience teams to ensure performance goals support editorial ambition.
  • Monitor competitive coverage and push Newsweek to outperform, not echo.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 7–10+ years of experience at a high-level U.S. digital newsroom.
  • Demonstrated record editing breaking news, exclusives, and enterprise reporting at speed.
  • Exceptional news judgment.
  • First-rate rewriting skills.
  • Comfortable making consequential editorial decisions independently.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and legally complex stories.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. political, legal, and cultural dynamics.
  • Calm, decisive leadership style under pressure.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 commensurate with experience.

Newsweek is an equal opportunity employer. We seek employees of diverse backgrounds and are committed to providing an inclusive, equitable and respectful workplace.

Content Senior Mobile Networks Thought Leadership Writer at Vonage

Senior thought leadership writer develops long-form content including white papers, research reports, and executive essays targeting C-suite and technical decision-makers in mobile networks and communications.

Senior Posted 16 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Join Vonage and help us innovate cloud communications for businesses worldwide!

Vonage Communications APIs & Applications:

As an emerging leader in the $10B+ communications API market, we empower global brands to connect better with their customers, employees, and partners through transformative communications experiences. For example, Vonage API solutions empower organizations to build their custom omnichannel communications structure. This allows them to reach and engage customers on their preferred schedule and channel — including voice, video, and messaging. Think of a rideshare service instantly connecting with customers, hospital staff conducting remote monitoring, customers verifying their identity before completing a purchase, AI virtual agents servicing customers around the clock, and much more.

Our Applications business unit focuses on delivering a suite of advanced communication tools designed to enhance customer engagement. From cloud contact centers to feature-rich unified communications solutions, our Applications team is dedicated to providing businesses with the tools they need to streamline operations and improve customer experiences.

Why this role matters:

The Content team is looking for a Senior Thought Leadership Writer to own the long-form voice that shapes how the world’s most influential business and technology leaders think about the potential of mobile networks and their role in transforming how enterprises connect, operate, and compete. This person is part journalist, part researcher, part strategist — someone who can independently identify the ideas worth writing about, do the work to make those ideas defensible and original, and translate them into authoritative content that earns the attention of both C-Suite audiences at global enterprises as well as the senior technical decision-makers at telecommunications companies and service operators who are responsible for building, managing, and modernizing the developer platforms and API ecosystems that power their networks.

This is not a role for someone who executes on briefs. It’s for someone who writes the brief — and then delivers content that changes the conversation.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Own the development of high-impact, long-form thought leadership content across formats including white papers, research reports, executive bylines, contributed articles, deep-dive guides, and point-of-view essays
  • Independently conduct research to surface cutting-edge topics, emerging trends, and market shifts — synthesizing industry data, analyst reports, and primary sources into compelling, original narratives
  • Keep a pulse on competitor and market trends to identify content whitespace and ensure Vonage’s thought leadership is genuinely differentiated
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of how mobile network evolution — including 5G, network APIs, AI, and cloud-native infrastructure — is reshaping enterprise tech stacks, digital services, and business operations — and translate that understanding into content that resonates with senior decision-makers across both enterprise and service operator/CSP audiences
  • Write for distinct audiences — with a particular focus on C-Suite enterprise readers (Chief Executive Officers, Chief Information Officers, Chief Digital Officers) and senior operator/CSP stakeholders including those responsible for network strategy, product development, and enterprise services
  • Partner closely across Marketing and subject matter experts to ensure content reflects Vonage’s most current positioning and strategic narrative
  • Bring a journalist’s instinct to every assignment — pursuing original angles, conducting interviews and background research, and building arguments grounded in evidence
  • Contribute to Vonage’s overall content strategy by identifying new thought leadership opportunities and advocating for the ideas, formats, and publishing channels that will drive the greatest impact

What you’ll bring:

Required:

  • 7-10+ years of professional writing experience, with a demonstrated track record of producing long-form thought leadership, editorial content, or investigative journalism at a high level
  • Deep, fluent knowledge of mobile networks and cloud communications — including 5G, network-as-a-service, cloud-native architecture, CPaaS, network APIs (e.g., CAMARA/Open Gateway), and the strategic and commercial implications of network evolution for both enterprises and Communications Service Providers
  • Proven understanding of the operator/CSP landscape — including how CSPs are transforming their business models, monetizing network assets, and partnering with enterprise technology providers; this is a required expertise, not a nice to have
  • Proven ability to conduct independent research, synthesize complex information, and develop original, defensible points of view without relying on prescribed briefs or talking points
  • Strong analytical instincts and experience performing competitor content analysis and monitoring market trends to inform editorial strategy
  • Experience writing for C-Suite audiences — an innate understanding of what earns executive attention and credibility
  • Experience working directly with or interviewing senior executives and subject matter experts
  • Demonstrated ability to write for both enterprise decision-makers and operator/CSP audiences — understanding that these audiences have distinct priorities, vocabularies, and buying contexts, and tailoring content accordingly without sacrificing depth or authority
  • Exceptional editorial judgment: you know the difference between a story and a press release, between a genuine insight and a repackaged vendor claim
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, matrixed B2B technology environment with multiple stakeholders and evolving priorities
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating long-form writing on complex, high-stakes topics — preferably in enterprise technology, telecommunications, cloud infrastructure, or network strategy

Experience we consider a plus:

  • Direct experience writing for or within a CSP, network operator, or telecom technology vendor; familiarity with the CPaaS, cloud communications, or enterprise SaaS market
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher; degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field preferred — equivalent experience in investigative or enterprise reporting considered.
  • Additional preferred education backgrounds: Political Science or Public Policy (for analytical rigor and systems thinking), Computer Science or Information Technology (for deep technical fluency), Business Administration / MBA (for enterprise strategy credibility), or Electrical Engineering / Telecommunications (for network infrastructure depth)

Where you will work:

We are open to considering fully remote candidates located within the United States.

Sponsorship is not available. Legal authorization to work in the USA is required. We are unable to sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

How you’ll benefit:

  • Employee Support Program (EAP)
  • Voluntary Supplemental Insurance
  • Lifestyle Benefits
  • Volunteer Time Off (VTO)
  • Tuition Reimbursement - available for select positions; full details will be shared during the interview process

  • Company Bonus or Commission Structure (depending on the role)
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage Options
  • 401(k) Savings Plan
  • Company-Paid Basic Life and AD&D Insurance
  • Short-Term Disability (STD)
  • Long-Term Disability (LTD)
  • Maternity/Parental Leave
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
  • Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • Employee Support Program (EAP)
  • Voluntary Supplemental Insurance

Translates complex security research into high-impact technical content and educational materials for the security community.

Senior Remote Posted 17 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Reports to: Sr. Director, Adversary Tactics

Location: Remote US

Compensation Range: $180,000.00 - $200,000.00 base plus bonus and equity

What We Do:

Cybercrime is growing, and more businesses are getting hit by threats that used to target only the biggest organizations. That pushes defenders like us to operate at the highest level, and it deepens our need for good people who want to make a meaningful impact.

Founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators, Huntress is a remote-first team working to make enterprise-grade cybersecurity accessible to businesses of all sizes. We work closely with security teams and service providers protecting complex environments, often without the time or headcount to handle it all. That’s why we build our technology in-house and back it with a 24⁄7 human-led Security Operations Center (SOC). As a result, our platform is never disconnected from the experts who manage it, ensuring our customers’ protection.

Huntress now secures more than 5M endpoints and 11M identities worldwide. Those numbers keep growing because more businesses rely on us to help carry the load and operate with more confidence. Every day, you can see that commitment in how we stand with our customers and how we show up for each other.

What You’ll Do:

The Huntress Security Team wakes up every morning knowing we make hackers regret targeting our partners and customers. As a Staff Technical Community Engagement Writer, you are the technical conscience of our marketing engine. You will sit at the intersection of deep security research and community education, ensuring that every piece of content we ship is both technically bulletproof and impossible to ignore. You will act as a force multiplier for our mission by taking raw intelligence from our researchers and turning it into high-impact narratives that help the community stay ahead of emerging threats.

In this role, you will give more than you take by delivering extreme value to the community through free, educational content that builds lasting trust. You will exercise candor to ensure our messaging remains authentic and free of corporate fluff, keeping our voice grounded in reality. Because the threat landscape moves fast, you will embrace perfect imperfection - iterating quickly on technical findings to get accurate, actionable information into the hands of practitioners while it matters most.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with security researchers and detection engineers to translate complex security research into clear, compelling stories.
  • Review and edit marketing assets to ensure technical accuracy and maintain the gritty, practitioner-focused Huntress voice.
  • Work cross-functionally with product and security teams to build accurate assets that reflect our latest defensive innovations.
  • Identify marketing campaign opportunities based on technical content and emerging threats found by our security team.
  • Support social media and marketing teams by building messaging that accurately reflects deep technical research.
  • Bridge the gap between technical SMEs and diverse audiences, from frontline analysts to executive buyers.
  • Support Rapid Response and Threat Report efforts from the Adversary Tactics team.

What You Bring To The Team:

  • 5+ years of experience in the cybersecurity space, ideally within a SOC or threat intelligence environment.
  • Deep knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and the ability to explain them without relying on jargon.
  • Proven ability to distill high-level technical research into accessible, action-oriented content for the community.
  • A genuine passion for following current events in the cybersecurity space and a pulse on the latest adversary trends.
  • Experience using AI as a tool to speed up workflows while remaining sharp about its limitations and downsides.
  • A collaborative mindset that thrives when working with subject matter experts to find the best way to tell a story.
  • Energetic, transparent team player who is self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful, and thrives in a collaborative environment

What We Offer:

  • 100% remote work environment - since our founding in 2015
  • Generous paid time off policy, including vacation, sick time, and paid holidays
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave
  • Highly competitive and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits plans
  • 401(k) with a 5% contribution regardless of employee contribution
  • Life and Disability insurance plans
  • Stock options for all full-time employees
  • One-time $500 reimbursement for building/upgrading home office
  • Annual allowance for education and professional development assistance
  • $75 USD/month digital reimbursement
  • Access to the BetterUp platform for coaching, personal, and professional growth

Huntress is committed to creating a culture of inclusivity where every single member of our team is valued, has a voice, and is empowered to come to work every day just as they are.

We do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status, genetic information, marital status, or any other legally protected status.

We do discriminate against hackers who try to exploit businesses of all sizes.
