Senior full-stack engineer builds and ships features across Ruby on Rails backend and React frontend for a creator economy platform's new community feature.
Headquarters: Remote
URL: http://gowalter.co
Our client is a full-service digital product agency. They build businesses at the intersection of content and commerce, and since 2020, we've been focused on the creator economy and online education space.
We're a distributed team based in Canada. For this project specifically, a good part of the client team is based in Europe, so we're looking for candidates in EST or compatible timezones (anywhere from Eastern North America through Western/Central Europe) with strong overlap to a EST/CET working day.
This is a temporary contract role. Anticipated start date is as soon as possible.
About the project
You'll be joining a major build for one of our clients, a leading platform in the creator economy. They're rolling out a native Community feature that gives their users' most engaged audiences a place to gather, talk, and come back between sends, unlocking a premium upsell and stronger retention for the platform.
The project is mid-development by the time you start, with a beta window and a release event planned for later this year. You'll be embedded into a small, focused team and shipping production code from day one.
About the role
We're looking for a senior full-stack engineer comfortable working primarily in Ruby on Rails and React, who can drop into an existing codebase, ramp up quickly, and start delivering meaningful tickets within the first few weeks. You'll work alongside our existing engineering leads on this engagement, share planning and working sessions with the broader client team, and contribute directly to features being shipped to end users.
The stack is Ruby on Rails with Postgres and Redis Docker for local dev), a React frontend, with real-time and feed infrastructure powered by Stream.io. We use GitHub for code management and Linear for ticketing.
This role is hands-on. There's no Rare Days PM on this engagement (the client owns PM, so we're looking for someone who is self-directed, communicates clearly, and can operate effectively inside a client's processes and rituals.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship full-stack features across the Rails service layer and the React frontend on the client's community platform
- Pick up tickets from the Linear board, scope your own work, and deliver production-quality code with strong test coverage
- Participate in the client's sprint rituals, demos, and touchpoints, speaking confidently about technical decisions, trade-offs, and delivery status
- Collaborate closely with the existing engineers on the project (your primary pair during ramp-up) and with the client's internal engineers and PM
- Help drive the team toward upcoming beta and release milestones, flagging risks early and proposing solutions, not just problems
- Contribute to architecture and integration discussions where relevant (e.g. real-time infrastructure, feed/messaging via Stream, performance and scaling questions)
- Write code reviews that raise the bar without slowing the team down
Â
What we're looking for
- 7+ years of full-stack engineering experience, with substantial production work in Ruby on Rails and React
- Comfortable in a Rails monolith of meaningful size. You can navigate an unfamiliar codebase, find the patterns, and make changes that match the existing conventions rather than fighting them
- Strong with Postgres (writing efficient queries, understanding indexing, reasoning about migrations on a live database) and familiar with Redis in a caching or background-job context
- Experience working with React in a production app (component patterns, state management, integrating with a Rails backend)
- You've worked on apps where real-time features, multi-tenancy, or scale are real concerns, and you have opinions about the trade-offs (familiarity with ActionCable/AnyCable, Stream.io, Pusher, or similar is a plus)
- You can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, and you're comfortable presenting your work directly to a client team
- You're self-directed: you can pick up a ticket, ask the right clarifying questions, and ship it without needing constant check-ins
- You're motivated by feedback and care about the craft. You'd rather raise a concern early than ship something you're not proud of
- Available to work in an EST or compatible timezone Eastern North America through Western/Central Europe), with strong overlap to a EST/CET working day for sprint rituals, pairing, and client touchpoints
- Comfortable working as a contractor
Nice to have
- Prior experience on creator-economy, publishing, or community products
- Background working as an embedded contractor inside a client's engineering team
- Familiarity with deploying Rails applications at scale Heroku, AWS, or similar)
- Experience integrating with third-party real-time / feed / chat services
Engagement details
Type: Temporary contract, full-time allocation
Location: Remote, EST or compatible timezone Eastern North America through Western/Central Europe)

Remote - U.S. & Canada Only | Full-Time
Compensation:
Weâre Not Looking for Generic Account Leadership. Weâre Looking for a Performance Marketing Leader.
Level Agency is hiring an Account Director with deep performance marketing agency experience â someone who knows how to lead client relationships, connect strategy to execution, and drive measurable business outcomes.
You may be a current Account Director at a performance marketing agency. Or, you may have started hands-on in paid media, analytics, or campaign management before moving into account leadership. Either way, you understand what great performance marketing looks like because youâve worked close enough to the work to know what actually moves results.
You can speak credibly about Google Ads. You understand how media, SEO, creative, data, CRM, websites, CRO, and reporting all connect. You know how to spot issues before they become client escalations. And youâre confident enough to lead a room without making it about your title.
Youâre especially strong when the path to conversion is complex â where lead quality, pipeline, sales alignment, landing pages, and conversion journeys matter as much as media efficiency.
This is not a âstatus call and recap emailâ role. This is for someone who can connect client business goals to marketing strategy, push back with purpose, and lead a focused book of accounts with depth â rather than spreading their attention across a high-volume roster with limited depth.
This Isnât for Everyone.
Weâre building something rare: a place where growth, truth, and high performance go hand-in-hand.
Youâll thrive here if:
â Youâve led client relationships in a performance marketing agency environment.
â You understand how modern marketing channels work together â media, SEO, creative, data, CRM, website, CRO, and analytics.
â You can speak credibly about Google Ads and paid media strategy.
â You care about client business results, not just campaign metrics.
â You can lead a focused book of clients deeply, not manage a huge roster shallowly.
â Your default is âIâll handle it,â even when the work sits slightly outside your lane.
And youâll struggle here if:
â Your experience is primarily brand, creative, ecommerce, or DTC without deeper performance agency experience.
â Youâve only managed accounts at the surface level across a very large client load.
â You need a narrow job description to know what you should own.
â You protect scope before you protect the outcome.
â You canât speak credibly about channel strategy beyond talking points.
Weâre an AI-powered performance marketing agency â built for precision, designed to scale, and powered by a scientific mindset. At Level, we blend strategy, media, creative, and machine intelligence to deliver outcomes that matter. Every time. At scale.
Weâve been named one of Pittsburghâs Best Places to Work and an Inc. 500 Fastest-Growing Company. Our clients span B2B, education, healthcare, financial services, ecommerce, and more.
As an Account Director, youâll lead performance-driven client relationships across a focused book of accounts. Youâll sit at the intersection of client strategy, marketing execution, internal team leadership, and business impact.
Youâll be the person clients trust to tell them the truth, the person internal teams count on to create clarity, and the person who keeps strategy tied to measurable outcomes.
Youâll:
At Level, AI is a skillset â not a shortcut. In this role, youâll be expected to:
AI should make you sharper, faster, and more strategic. It should never replace judgment, taste, accountability, or a strong point of view.
We donât do âthatâs not my job.â We win together, step in where needed, and care more about the outcome than the org chart.
We want the feedback â even when it stings. We test, learn, adapt, and keep raising the bar.
Activity is nothing without outcomes. We care about the work that moves the business forward.
We challenge assumptions, follow the data, and tell clients what they need to hear â not just what is easy to say.
At Level, we support our people across the U.S. and Canada with benefits designed to promote flexibility, wellbeing, and long-term growth.
This role is open to U.S. and Canada residents and is fully remote. We are unable to sponsor visas at this time.
We are committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Level is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer â we celebrate what makes you, you.
Click below to submit your resume. Youâll also answer a few thoughtful questions, so take your time.
We care more about how you think, how you lead, and how you create impact than whether your path has been perfectly linear.

Staff-level threat intelligence analyst leading a research team to investigate threats, produce intelligence reports, and advocate for product improvements across customer networks.
Reports to: Sr. Director of Adversary Tactics
Location: Remote US
Compensation Range: $190,000.00 to $210,000.00Â base plus bonus and equity
What We Do:
Cybercrime is growing, and more businesses are getting hit by threats that used to target only the biggest organizations. That pushes defenders like us to operate at the highest level, and it deepens our need for good people who want to make a meaningful impact.
Founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators, Huntress is a remote-first team working to make enterprise-grade cybersecurity accessible to businesses of all sizes. We work closely with security teams and service providers protecting complex environments, often without the time or headcount to handle it all. Thatâs why we build our technology in-house and back it with a 24â7 human-led Security Operations Center (SOC). As a result, our platform is never disconnected from the experts who manage it, ensuring our customersâ protection.
Huntress now secures more than 5M endpoints and 11M identities worldwide. Those numbers keep growing because more businesses rely on us to help carry the load and operate with more confidence. Every day, you can see that commitment in how we stand with our customers and how we show up for each other.
What Youâll Do:
The Huntress Adversary Tactics team has the unique honor of waking up every morning knowing weâre going to make hackers regret targeting our partners and customers. Weâre looking for someone who wants to pour their creativity into researching, hunting, and uncovering threats in our customer networks. Competitive candidates have experience leading a team of researchers across the threat intelligence cycle. Candidates should also have experience creating Threat Intelligence reports, advocating for product enhancements, and public speaking.
Threat Intelligence Analysts aggregate threat data from the previous month and build out reports for our customers. These reports may also be used for marketing and help illustrate the value of what Huntress provides to customers and the community. Threat Intelligence Analysts are also responsible for writing blog posts and marketing materials regarding emerging threat trends. They also work closely with Security Researchers and Analysts to obtain more context about threat data.
Familiarity with product management, scripting/development, incident response, malware analysis, configuration management, and antivirus technologies is an additional way to differentiate yourself.
As you can imagine, success doesnât happen in a vacuum. An effective hunter fosters highly collaborative environments between the Product, Marketing, and Security Operations Center teams to accelerate our mission and secure the 99% of businesses that fall below the enterprise poverty line. This collaboration is needed to produce and prioritize a unified technical vision, ultimately delivering our most impactful features and capabilities.
We defend over 5 million endpoints and 11 million identities, and that number continues to grow each month, across tens of thousands of mid-sized and small business customers. Given this marketâs tighter budgets, itâs impossible to assign human analysts to each client. The Adversary Tactics team addresses this challenge head-on by providing input to build and scale highly automated efficienciesâoften lightly augmented by our Security Operations Analystsâthat make intruders earn every inch of their access while maintaining affordability and healthy gross margins.
Responsibilities:
What You Bring To The Team:
What We Offer:
Huntress is committed to creating a culture of inclusivity where every single member of our team is valued, has a voice, and is empowered to come to work every day just as they are.
We do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status, genetic information, marital status, or any other legally protected status.
We do discriminate against hackers who try to exploit businesses of all sizes.
Accommodations:
If you require reasonable accommodation to complete this application, interview, or pre-employment testing or participate in the employee selection process, please direct your inquiries to accommodations@huntresslabs.com . Please note that non-accommodation requests to this inbox will not receive a response.
Huntress uses artificial intelligence tools to assist in reviewing and evaluating job applications, including resume screening, skills assessment, and candidate matching and comparisons. These AI tools support our human recruiters in the initial review process, but do not make final hiring decisions without human involvement. By submitting your application, you acknowledge this use of AI in our recruitment process. Please review our Candidate Privacy Notice for more details on our practices and your data privacy rights.

Senior Product Designer owns features end-to-end from customer research through production, writing specs and collaborating with engineers to ship polished compliance software.
Location: Remote (EMEA) ¡ CET/CEST timezone
Hi â Iâm Grigory, co-founder and CTO at Secfix.
How do you feel about owning a feature from the first customer conversation to the version thatâs live on production â writing the spec yourself, pairing closely with engineers through the build, and overseeing your design shipped on production exactly the way you designed it? If that sounds like the right shape of the job â designer who owns, not designer who hands off â read on.
Iâve spent most of my career believing the best designers arenât the ones with the prettiest Figma files. Theyâre the ones who can frame a problem, write a spec, sit with engineers through the build, and own that what shipped is what they designed. Our founding product designer, Ghada, has been doing exactly that since we started. The engineering team has doubled and weâre shipping faster than we ever have. Weâre hiring the second designer because thereâs more good work to do than one person can hold â and weâd rather ship twice as much than slow down.
Over 1.78 million SMBs in Europe need to comply with security frameworks â ISO 27001, GDPR, TISAX, SOC 2 â just to sell to enterprise customers. The process is manual, painful, and takes over a year. We automated it.
Our platform integrates with a companyâs full tech stack â AWS, Azure AD, Jira, GitLab, GCP, and more â automatically extracts compliance evidence, and guides teams to certification in weeks instead of months. Our fastest customer certified in 4 weeks instead of the industry-standard 12+ months.
Weâve raised âŹ17M in total (âŹ12M Series A), backed by Alstin Capital, Neosfer (Commerzbank), and Bayern Capital. Weâre on a profitable trajectory, growing fast, and building the team that will take us to European market leadership.
This space is not threatened by AI, itâs amplified by it. Compliance requires deep domain expertise combined with automation. Our new AI product (CISO AI) is just getting started, and thereâs a huge amount of product design work ahead: agentic workflows, intelligent evidence collection, context-aware policy generation, and more.
Compliance software has historically been built like the audit it automates â heavy, defensive, ugly. Weâre building something else. The customer is a real person trying to ship audit-ready evidence on a Friday afternoon. The product should respect their time, automate the boring parts, and make the rest feel calm.
Quality is the product. Most of our category competes on feature lists. We compete on craft. A clear empty state, a sync that doesnât lie, a settings page that holds together at eleven permission tiers â these are the things customers feel before they can name them. Design at Secfix is not what wraps the product. Itâs most of what makes it work.
We expect strong design skill, strong product thinking, and the ability to hold your own in a technical discussion. You work in a small team â usually with one or two engineers â and pair closely from the first prototype through to production. You own the project from beginning to end.
Alongside the features you ship, you do three things that make everyone else faster:
Maintain the components and patterns that make design fast.
Own how the team ships. We have no PMs. You write the specs, run the ticketing workflow, keep engineers unblocked.
Build the tools and skills â Cursor rules, design QA skills, prompt templates â that let engineers do good design work without you in the room.
The leverage is doing all four well. Doing only one is the wrong shape.
No PMs. Designers and engineers run product. You talk to customers, frame the problem, write the spec, decide what ships.
Small temporary teams. You plus one or two engineers per project. Whoever is closest to the problem leads.
Design leads the logic, engineering tests feasibility. You bring the V1. Engineers push back on whatâs expensive or risky, start ahead with system design. They help spot edge cases. You adjust it fast. We get from v1 to v4 in matter of hours or few days.
Prototype-grade, not wireframes. Real components, real states, real copy. Sometimes an LLM-built prototype before Figma. The component library stays current because the speed of design depends on it.
Handoff is the beginning, not the end. Youâre in the engineering channel. You review the PR. You verify on production. Staging QA is the first gate, not the last.
In-sync culture with thoughtful coms mindset. Loom for reviews, Notion for specs, quick loops in Gather where written coms doesnât cut it, all happening in the same time zone. Team mates are reviewing things quick. Engineers and designers spend under two hours weekly meetings.
AI is part of the craft. We use Claude to pressure-test ideas, draft specs, surface edge cases, write test cases. Not to skip thinking.
Month 1. Ship your first design to production. Get into the codebase, the customer language, the way we write specs. Sit on customer calls.
Month 2. Own a full feature end-to-end. Customer conversations, problem framing, Figma, spec, engineer pairing, PR review, production verification.
Month 3 and beyond. Push the design system forward. Start building the tools and skills that make engineers faster at design. Improve the product design process. The bar is yours to defend.
8+ years designing B2B SaaS desktop applications as Staff/Principal Product Designer or similar. Dense interfaces â tables, filters, permissions, settings pages.
Youâve been the only designer, or one of two or three, in companies under 50 people at least once before. You know how to set the bar without a design org behind you.
Your portfolio is âI,â not âwe.â You can name the engineer you paired with on each feature, the design decision you defended through the build, and what happened when the feature reached users.
You communicate clearly and concise in English: in Slack, in docs and on a call.
Youâre fast in Figma with or without AI. Youâre already in a serious relationship with LLMs.
You treat engineering feasibility as input, not constraint. When an engineer says âthree weeks, hereâs why,â you find the version thatâs 80% as good and ships next week.
Youâre comfortable doing product work without the PM title.
You hear feedback and come back the next day with something better. You donât spend the hour in between defending the version thatâs already outdated.
Salary + equity based on experience. The offered compensation depends on the individualâs qualifications assessed during the interview process.
Generous equity. Everyone is an owner.
26 days holiday + local public holidays.
Comprehensive health insurance.
âŹ1,000 annual personal development budget.
Remote workspace and co-working budget.
Latest equipment.
Team summits 1-2x per year. Recent ones: Costa Brava, Austrian Alps, Milan.
Local hubs in Munich, Berlin, London. Visa support if you want to relocate.
We aim to invite you to a first conversation within a week and give feedback after every stage.
